Electro-Glass Products was founded in 1973 as a manufacturer of glass insulators for the electronics industry. The original location was a small building in the town of Mammoth, in western Pennsylvania.
Today, Electro-Glass Products strives to be a leader in the advancement of glass technology, making available to our customers the latest in new materials and fabricating techniques.
Our Humble Beginnings
We offer our sincere thanks to all those who have helped us push technology to the level which we have achieved today.
At the company’s start, we specialized in small quantities of preforms using three standard glasses.
Over time, Electro-Glass developed a reputation for sincere honesty and high-quality standards. This reputation prompted many companies to bring us their ideas for new applications and uses for glass, causing new technology and processes to be developed.
Our steady growth continued, and in 1980 Electro-Glass expanded its operations and moved to its present 40,000 square foot facility. The 1980 move was only the beginning of what was to be decades of exciting advancement. New equipment has been both purchased and invented by Electro-Glass since 1980, which included tool making capability.
New quality control programs were implemented along with the addition of on-site melting, milling, spray drying, and granulating. We grew to offer hot drawn clear and opaque glass tubing, hot-pressed lenses, sight glass windows, and micro-wave window applications. Along with technology, we’ve also acquired and nurtured a wide range of in-house talent, enabling Electro-Glass Products to develop into a highly reliable production and product engineering facility.
